Also, Brooke - you don't see how an OS with a focus on attractive UI is an improvement? It's something you've got to sit and look at all day, why shouldn't it look nice if it's got all the function?

Hehe, you two and your Apple bashing are never going to let it go, are you?! I can't really comment on the TV or Time Capsule - I have Sky+ and just a normal NAS because it was cheaper and it's just a hard drive, but the OS is solid. Sure, there are negative things you can say about it - the pinwheel is one of the most obnoxious features of any operating system ever, and the hidden preferences smack of laziness and an attempt to hold ties with Linux that aren't really there. The lack of a decent package manager (Macports? Really?) is also a huge pain in the ass, but if there was one, you can bet it'd be policed to the point of uselessness anyway! That being said, it's just a marginally stripped Unix system (most of the parts you get back with developer tools anyway) with a pretty GUI.

Windows isn't without its problems either - Vista forgetting settings, being prone to crashing (much, much more so than OSX is my extensive experience with both), regedit and the horrible Add/Remove Programs.

As much as dirty little Windows fanboys like to sit and poke Apple users for wearing their turtlenecks and being pretentious douches, Apple users could poke fun right back for being pimply, adware blocker-installing nerds. It's all just namecalling and, more importantly, it's all just an OS that you choose! If you're comfortable with the computer you use, that's enough. If I come along with something you've never used and say I like it, it might perk your interest to try it and go back if you don't like it (like I did when Windows 7 came out - great improvement, still not enough for me). I don't think I'll ever understand the Windows is best, Mac sucks crap. It just doesn't matter - it's a tool you can use to get through your day - whatever makes it easiest.

Also, are you /really/ (as a Windows user) going to start going on about something being released to meet a deadline without being ready?! Really?! You know that cancels out at least one positive thing you said about Vista, don't you?

Thank you for the informative opinion on apple. I now know not to buy an apple! (although bearing in mind your opinion is probably a little bias) Glad to see you are keeping up with your blog! :)

[...] A Virtual Insight - Richard Turner put an intriguing blog post on The Poisoned AppleHere’s a quick overviewHowever i do own an Apple iPhone and Apple TV….However whilst running 2. 1 you will not find applications crashing or lag because instead of locking up your iPhone they just close for no reason at all!…I have yet to experience any problems with Apple TV, but here are some of my thoughts on the iPhone….This is really frustrating when you are trying to use an application on your IPhone, especially the ones Apple make you pay for!… [...]

Great Post! We are all very aware that Apple Users are simply being hypnotized by that bloody colour wheel. I don’t see how an OS built around looking nice is a good environment to work with unless you’re using Adobe Photoshop and other design related programs. My conclusion: If you use an Apple Mac for anything other than design.... http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JixbzFjv_cU
